Developing and nurturing the resilience of people and organisations to create living systems change

SUBAK PROGRAMMES

We run two programmes: the Changemaking Programme and the Resilient Organisations Programme. Whether you are an individual changemaker seeking to shift systems, or a not-for-profit organisation working to expand your impact, Subak provides the knowledge, tools, and community to help you thrive.

All programme participants also benefit from Subak’s wider capacity & capability-building support

These Programmes are specific, time-bound learning journeys. Alongside the curriculum, participants can access Subak’s additional initiatives, such as Guilds, mentorship and thematic events. Participants will continue to benefit from these initiatives even beyond the Programme, as alumni become long-term community members.

  • The Subak Changemaking Programme is designed to equip climate-focused organisations and individuals with the knowledge, strategies, and networks to drive real-world impact. It is rooted in Subak’s unique and established approach for convening and supporting not-for-profits to identify opportunities to shift systems, as well as equipping them with the skills they need to drive policies and narrative change.

  • A 6-month programme provides changemakers with three interconnected pillars - Policy, Governments and Campaigning; Shifting Narratives; and Living Systems Change - this cohort of climate changemakers step into a different kind of learning experience. Not just to gain skills, but to transform the way we make change.

  • We believe that addressing the climate crisis requires collaboration and diverse perspectives. Our programmes bring together startups, scale-ups, and individuals from around the world to share knowledge, build solutions, and amplify impact.

    • Not-for-profits working in climate action at different scales

    • Climate campaigners and activists

    • Changemakers from all sectors who are looking to enhance their impact

    • Individuals from the private sector looking to positively engage in climate action

CHANGEMAKING PROGRAMME

Unlocking the power of climate changemakers to influence policy and shift narratives to drive systems change

  • Designed for climate nonprofits ready to grow, this programme combines systems thinking and practical leadership to build resilient, effective teams and back office functions. Through expert guidance covering operations, strategy, and regenerative leadership, participants learn to strengthen both their internal capacity and ultimately their impact. By embedding regenerative practices and building resilience, organisations become better equipped to deliver on their mission in a changing world.

  • A 6-month programme upskills organisations across three interconnected pillars - Strategy, Fundraising & Governance; Operational Excellence; and Living Systems & Regenerative Leadership.

  • The Resilient Organisations Programme is open to established not-for-profit climate, nature and environmental organisations based in the UK. Read more about who should join, and eligibility criteria, here.

Benefit from Subak’s broader initiatives and community:

  • Guilds & Communities of Practice

By nurturing collaboration and knowledge sharing across business functions (e.g. operations, tech, marketing & communications), these activities bring together relevant stakeholders within member organisations and beyond to drive climate impact.

  • Community Events & Mentors

We organise regular, ecosystem-wide happenings for climate not-for-profits. These in-person and virtual events allow our community to connect and unwind, harnessing the collective innovation of our members in a comfortable environment.

  • Shared Resources & Knowledge
